SURGIFLO™ Haemostatic Matrix Kit with Thrombin – MS0012
SURGIFLO™ Haemostatic Matrix Kit with Thrombin is intended for haemostatic use by applying to a bleeding surface. It is for use only by healthcare professionals who are trained in the surgical procedures and techniques requiring the use of this haemostatic device.
The Flowable Gelatin Matrix in SURGIFLO™ Haemostatic Matrix Kit with Thrombin provides an environment for platelets to adhere and aggregate within, building on the patient’s natural coagulation cascade.
The patient’s endogenous thrombin is activated, and the patient’s thrombin converts fibrinogen into an insoluble fibrin clot. The thrombin constituent of SURGIFLO™ Haemostatic Matrix Kit with Thrombin provides an ancillary effect to the innate haemostatic property of the Flowable Gelatin Matrix.
The Flowable Gelatin Matrix is made of porcine gelatin and the Thrombin is made from human plasma.
SURGIFLO™ Haemostatic Matrix Kit with Thrombin, following mixing of the Flowable Gelatin Matrix with the Thrombin Solution, contains a volume of minimum 8 ml.
Indication:
SURGIFLO™ Haemostatic Matrix Kit with Thrombin is indicated in surgical procedures (other than ophthalmic) as an adjunct to haemostasis when control of bleeding ranging from oozing to spurting by ligature or other conventional methods is ineffective or impractical.
