At Ferrosan Medical Devices, we strive to become a sustainable medical device company with a positive health impact. We recognize our responsibility towards employees, society, and the environment. As such, our approach to sustainability encompasses four key pillars: environment, social, governance, and health impact.
We are committed to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact
As of 2021, Ferrosan Medical Devices incorporates the ten principles for corporate sustainability in all new and revised relevant strategies, processes, and policies, ensuring that we meet our fundamental responsibilities in the four areas of Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-corruption.
Ferrosan Medical Devices reports on actions and progress within the four areas mentioned below in our annual financial statements. This reporting is done according to section 99a of the Danish Financial Statements Act.
The ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact:
Human rights
1 Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
2 Make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labor
3 Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
4 The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;
5 The effective abolition of child labor; and
6 The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
7 Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
8 Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
9 Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-corruption
10 Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
Supporting change
Ferrosan Medical Devices recognizes the climate change related impacts and risks to healthcare, the environment, our own business, and society. Therefore we support the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, we have committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative– a global partnership between leading climate organizations that ensures companies align their goals with the latest climate science. By joining this initiative, we’re stepping up and joining a growing global movement of companies developing real, science-based decarbonization strategies to fight climate change.
Ferrosan Medical Devices is committed to:
- Reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions 42% between 2021 and 2030
- Reducing scope 3 economic intensity emissions 52% between 2021 and 2030
