Ferrosan Medical Devices is committed to supporting a sustainable future for all people, the climate and our society. At Ferrosan Medical Devices we are committed to acting responsibly in all aspects of our company, whether it be developing, producing, or selling medical devices.
Ferrosan Medical Devices acts in full compliance with all laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where we operate. In addition, all employees are informed on general business ethics and are encouraged to report any concerns or observations.
We are committed to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact
As of 2021, Ferrosan Medical Devices incorporates the ten principles for corporate sustainability in all new and revised relevant strategies, processes, and policies, ensuring that we meet our fundamental responsibilities in the four areas of Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-corruption.
The ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact:
Human rights
1 Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
2 Make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labor
3 Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
4 The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;
5 The effective abolition of child labor; and
6 The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
7 Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
8 Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
9 Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-corruption
10 Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
Ferrosan Medical Devices reports on actions and progress within the above four areas in our annual financial statements. This reporting is done according to section 99a of the Danish Financial Statements Act.
We work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
Ferrosan Medical Devices strives to leave a positive mark on society and the environment. We support the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and we believe that our company, with our products, contribute positively to SDG 3 ‘Good Health and Well-Being’. Specifically, the targets:
- Target 3.4 Reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and well-being.
- Target 3.8 Achieve universal health coverage, incl. financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all.
At Ferrosan Medical Devices we also strive to support the targets related to SDG 12 ‘Responsible Consumption and Production’:
- Target 12.2 Achieve sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources.
- Target 12.5 Reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.
- Target 12.6 Adopt sustainable practices and integrate sustainability information into reporting.
